Grisetti was born in Washington D.C. and grew-up in Rocky Mount, Virginia.[2] He attended Franklin County High School until his junior year, when he transferred to the North Carolina School of the Arts to graduate in 2000 with a diploma in Drama. He attended college at The Boston Conservatory where he graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. While attending school in Boston, Grisetti once appeared as a soloist for the Boston Pops.[3][4]
After college, Grisetti began appearing in New York City and abroad in stage productions of Follies, Grease (musical), Where's Charley?, Cosi Fan Tutte, The Merry Widow, The Music Man, Camelot (musical), Lucky Guy, and others.[3][4]
More recently, he's played "Prince Herbert" in the Las Vegas production of Monty Python's Spamalot, "Hysterium" in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and "Finch" in the Los Angeles production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying for which he won the 2011 Ovation Award for "Lead Actor in a Musical."[5][6][7]
Grisetti most notably starred in the York Theatre's 2008-2009 revival of Enter Laughing (originally titled So Long, 174th Street). His performance garnered rave reviews and multiple award nominations in the 2008-2009 season.[8] Grisetti also appeared in the American premier of Noel Coward's After the Ball (musical) at the Irish Repertory Theatre. He is featured on the cast recordings of both shows.
Grisetti was supposed to have made his Broadway debut in the 2009-2010 season, starring as "Eugene Morris Jerome" in the Neil Simon revival of BROADWAY BOUND, directed by David Cromer.[9][10] Because of poor ticket sales, BROADWAY BOUND's sister show (BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS) closed just days after opening at the Nederlander Theatre, canceling BROADWAY BOUND two weeks before its scheduled premiere.[11]
In 2007, Grisetti starred in the short-lived ABC sitcom The Knights of Prosperity. On film, he has appeared in Revolutionary Road (film), The Namesake (2007 film), The Superagent, Public Interest and The Sandpiper.[12][13]
